Library No. 11
A series of stained glass windows by artist Leonid Lukyantsev in the hall of Library No. 11 in Chyzhovka is called ‘Kupalle’. The stained-glass pattern includes paparazzi kvetka and heroines of Belarusian legends.In the reading room there is a large tapestry of the artist Lyudmila Puteiko ‘Girl from Polesie’
The library in Chizhovka was a part of the community centre, which was established in each microdistrict. In addition to the library building there were built a cinema ‘Druzhba’, a house of everyday life, a polyclinic, a market. Architects Alexander Chadovich and Oleg Ladkin were awarded the All-Union Komsomol Prize for the design of the cinema and library. The parted facade of the library building resembles book spines and paper scrolls. There are windows in the recesses.
