The artist and chairman of the Brest Union of Artists Pyotr Danelia was a master of landscape. Perhaps that is why his monumental paintings are like large easel paintings, assembled from separate subjects, but necessarily on the background of nature. So here, together with landscape motifs, the artist depicted the swearing Hippocrates, himself in his youth and his family. Together with Hippocrates, Soviet doctors swear. Next to the microscope is a portrait of Soviet dentist-surgeon Alexander Evdokimov (1883-1979), but it may be Konstantin Tsiolkovsky or the creator of the first Soviet rocket, Friedrich Tsander. The third version is hinted at by the rocket taking off into the sky.
