Panel in the cafeteria of the Central Department Store
In 1955, the Tsentralny shop was opened in Minsk. On the ground floor, presumably by sculptor Andrei Bembel, massive plaster medallions were hung. The medallions, made in the best traditions of Soviet neoclassicism, depicted what should be on the festive table, beautiful girls with gifts of nature and a cow, a fisherman on the background of an Italian landscape. It was assumed that the themes of the medallions coincided with the sections of the grocery shop.
