"Park Cheluskincau" undeground station

The theme of the station's design was changed several times. The first variant was connected with the tragedy of the burnt Khatyn, but it was rejected as too gloomy. The next variant was devoted to the seasons. In the end, we settled on the theme ‘Soviet Workers’ Holiday’, having greatly simplified the original idea.
In the recess in the middle of the vault, several large chandeliers, looking like precious jewellery, are located on one line. The chandeliers are designed to resemble sunflowers. The glass for the chandeliers and the decorative inserts in the niches was made at the Neman glassworks, and assembled at the Riga arts and crafts factory ‘Maksla’, artist Jundriks (Juri) Indkriskon.
